Reform of Vocational Education

On 1 August 2019, the Government announced its decisions on the Reform of Vocational Education proposals to create a unified vocational education system and bring together industry and educators.

The Reform of Vocational Education aims to ensure that New Zealand’s workforce is fit for today’s needs and tomorrow’s expectations. It will make in impact on education providers, employers, industry, learners, iwi and whānau, and communities around the country.

Engagement with those in the sector affected will continue throughout the design process. Their input is vital to ensuring the system does what is set out to achieve.
